After nearly 20 years of growing the Academy as a place to develop student’s intuitive abilities in a hands-on environment, founder Dr. Francesca McCartney is breaking through another energetic boundary, and giving students the opportunity to learn in a hands-on-keyboard environment. In Francesca’s own case, she is one of the elite few to receive a PhD in Energy Medicine, and as well was the recipient of the inaugural PhD in Intuition Medicine. As an outgrowth of her own distance learning doctoral work Francesca has recognized the incredible potential that comes from giving the Academy a portal in cyberspace. The Academy’s Distance Education Program (DEP) will be the first intuitive distance education certification training available to students worldwide.

What is the Distance Education Program?
The advent of the Internet has given schools the ability to bring students into a classroom environment no matter what their physical proximity. The DEP environment allows a student to create her own schedule, in terms of committing to email communication with teachers, completing assignments, and fitting this into her own work and home life. It is with this end in mind that the Academy is breaking down the wall of academic education to what we all know is a clearer form of learning, directed experience.

Consider how fortunate we are to live in Northern California, where being energetically sensitive is not deemed an invitation to be institutionalized. The Intuition Medicine website will be a jumping in point for students everywhere, to join us in becoming aware of energy as it affects our lives, and freeing themselves from the shackles of rationalistic/scientism worldview.

The DEP Curriculum
The core courses of the DEP program come directly from Francesca’s book, Intuition Medicine: the Science of Energy, in which she has outlined her methods for understanding and working with one's own energy. The eight courses described in the book: Grounding Systems; Aura/Life Force/Earth-Energy; Chakra System; Color Healing; Prosperity & Synchronicity; Male/Female Energy Anatomy; Creating Healthy Relationships, and Kundalini Energy, are taught using her book and tape series, as well as additional readings determined by the teachers. In addition to these courses there will be a class on Raising Intuitive Children and Psychology & Intuition.

The Academy’s DEP program will work a bit differently than other distance schools, in that our material is rarely gleaned from a purely academic approach. Students who sign up for DEP classes will not only receive meditation and daily awareness work on-line, they will have basic energy consultations with their instructors to review techniques and their application within the framework of each class. Classes are taught within a 12-20 session format, or students may decide to absorb the information at whatever pace works for them. Students in the DEP program can also take their courses in whatever order they choose, focusing on what interests them. Although some advanced courses do have pre-requisites, instructors have the ability to assess a student’s understanding of the work, and meet them on their own level.
