Dr. Arya Bhushan Bhardwaj, was born in 1945, Arya hails from a revolutionary family that struggled against the British rule during the freedom movement. Arya’s father was a close associate of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and had spent eight years in British Jails. Dr. Bhardwaj’s Grand uncle was a founder member of Gaddar Party and had been sentenced for life imprisonment (1914-1937) by the colonial rulers. Ayurveda has been a mission for Arya’s family for the last three generations. Arya's father served the most backward villages of Trans-Yamuna, Delhi with Bharat Sewak Samaj, for 25 years (1960-1985). He has devoted his whole life for the promotion of Gandhian way of life, Ayurveda and alternative medicines. In 1987, Arya founded Gandhi-in-Action, an international group of nonviolent activists based in New Delhi. For this mission Arya had traveled to 26 countries around the world. Arya had authored 13 books and contributed more than one hundred articles in various news papers and journals in India and abroad. His three books have been translated into Italian, German and Japanese.

Arya has been invited 50 times by the various universities and international organizations in US, UK, Europe, Scandinavia, USSR & Japan to conduct courses on Gandhi, non-violence, Ayurveda, Yoga and Indian Philosophy. Richard A. Blasband  MD
Psychiatrist | Researcher

Dr. Blasband is a board-certified psychiatrist who trained and taught in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine. His specialty is psychiatric orgone therapy, having studied with the individual Wilhelm Reich appointed to train physicians in his methods of therapy. A founder and past-President of the American College of Orgonomy and the Journal of Orgonomy, Dr. Blasband has been President of the College and Editor of the Journal.

Currently he is the research director of the Center for Functional Research in Sausalito, California, where he practices therapy. Pamala Bradley  PhD, MIM

Dr. Bradley is a consulting psychologist and researcher who has been a scholar of various disciplines in humanistic psychology for over 20 years.

She began her journey in psychology as a student of Jungian theory and has focused her interests on personality and the process of individuation. She received training directly from Dr. Carl Rogers in his "client-centered approach" to psychotherapy and has studied and worked with other leaders in the field of clinical and personality psychology.

Gloria Horsley   PhD

Gloria Horsley Ph.D., R.N., MFC. received her Masters of Science Degree from the University of Rochester in 1981, her Masters of Arts Degree from Syracuse University in 1989, and her Doctorate in Energy Medicine and Transpersonal Psychology from Greenwich University in 1999. Peter Howard  PhD, MIM
Research Scientist

Peter began studies in the biological sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, undertaking an honors thesis on the regulation of the biosynthetic biotin operon, receiving his bachlors degree with honors in genetics in 1983. He continued with doctoral studies at the University of California, San Diego, studying and assistant teaching in developmental biology, neurobiology, nutrition, genetics, cell biology, and molecular genetics. Thesis work focused on molecular signaling events regulating the onset of differentiation and cell type choice in the simple eucaryote Dictyostelium discoidium. He received his PhD in Biology at UCSD in 1992. Next, with an American Cancer Society Grant, he undertook three and a half years of postdoctoral work in cell signaling and cytoskeletal regulation at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. He is currently a Research Scientist at the company Exelixis, Inc.

In parallel with the science and research training he has been a student of yoga since 1984, primarily practicing the asana and pranayama series of Astanga yoga. He began teaching yoga in 1999.

Judith Tolson   MIM, MA

Judith Tolson, Director of Programs and Operations, is the primary architect of the Institute for Health & Healing programs. She has a master's in organizational development and more than 20 years of program development experience in nonprofit, educational and service organizations, including the San Francisco Education Fund, California Pacific Medical Center, and the Sonoma Waldorf School. In 1992 she joined Dr. William B. Stewart as administrative director for the Program in Medicine and Philosophy at California Pacific, which in 1994 became the core program of the Institute for Health & Healing.

Ms. Tolson has been implementing a compassionate and comprehensive program that provides opportunities for deep healing. Programs include the Health & Healing Center, Clinic, Classes, Support Groups, Workshops, Library, Health Information Research, In-Hospital Services, and the Certificate Program in Integrative Medicine and Spirituality. Under her direction, California Pacific established its first complementary medicine community benefit program, which reaches the poor in San Francisco.

Garrett Yount   PhD
Research Scientist

Dr. Yount directs a molecular biology laboratory at California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute in San Francisco. His laboratory has focused on understanding the genetic mechanisms underlying cancer and cancer therapeutics for more than a decade. This journey has lead to collaborations with energy medicine practitioners from many disciplines around the world. Through the microscope, the journey has lead to discoveries that could impact theories on the origins of life.

He is also the founder of The SETH Group, an interdisciplinary team of scientists seeking to develop new models for cancer research based on compassion and open mindedness. Using the same tests that are used to judge new chemotherapies, SETH scientists recently demonstrated that the major active component of the medicinal herb Cannabis sativa , 9 -THC, kills human brain tumor cells at a concentration that is nontoxic to normal brain cells.
